Standardbreds have proportionally shorter legs and longer bodies than thoroughbreds. They also are of more placid dispositions, as suits horses whose races involve more strategy and more re-acceleration than do thoroughbred races.
In addition to live harness racing action from July-August, Ocean Downs also provide full card simulcasting from the best thoroughbred and harness racing tracks in North America.
